It’s here! the great countdown of the year, amazing isn’t it? it feels like only yesterday that we were counting down for 2011′s arrival. Where did time go? i feel like I’ve been asleep through it all, because i am still trying to remember it all. So, what was your absolute favorite thing that happened this year? the one that changed your life completely?
If you were to ask me, what changed my life? It would be having met incredible friends this year, whom am i referring to? why, all of you of course! without all of you my life wouldn’t be what it is now. Before i met you all, it was just day to day grind to work and back home and my thoughts would never be expressed, so this is me thanking all of you for a wonderful year and i wish you all the best! may you reach all your goals and dreams

You can try going back to the beginning and starting over again, but in the end all you will find is nothing will be the same as you had hoped. The harder you try to pursue something that simply isn’t meant to be, the further it will drift away from you. Every decision and every thought changes the outcome from what you originally wanted, so hold on to the memories and the feelings you have now. Every year, there are only two things I look forward to. First, is spending my birthdays with my little lady and Christmas eve with her as well. She’s 10 right now, but I do know that she’s going to be a teen very soon. So, this year I have been truly blessed! I spent the second Christmas eve with her! we had a great time! watching my old childhood favorite movies such as “Honey I shrunk the kids” and “Home alone”. She didn’t understand the whole 80′s and 90′s but! isn’t that what passing on memories is all about? sharing thoughts and stories while having a great time?

The other day I sent my girlfriend a huge pile of snow. I rang her up and asked, 'Did you get my drift?'
Today's Christmas Eve but in Japan that doesn't give us any special holidays or time off from work, it's business as usual here in Tokyo! Here's some pictures I took in Ginza, sort of a continuation on yesterday's post. There's still nothing better for me than to just walk around in Tokyo with my camera and just let my mind wander as much as my feet.
Our love slipped through like grasping onto fine sand, the more i tried to hold on to it. The more all our memories slipped through the cracks between my fingers. Did you really care about what i thought? or was it just my false hopes playing games with me, fooling myself into thinking that somehow it mattered to you. If that’s the truth, then i will release it all into the wind and let time take it all. I’d rather forget, than remember it all as a lie.
We all play a role in each others lives, some guide us in the right direction and some mend our souls in ways no other can, just like gears in a watch. Each cog affects the other, each movement affects another. We are all connected in the most profound ways.

As the end of this year approaches, i wanted to thank each and everyone of you my friends for all the support you have given me. I originally did a lot of writing on Blogspot but it was always just one or two readers every week, believe me when i say that gets very discouraging and so i came to WordPress. My life has changed from that moment on, reading everyone’s experiences and seeing the world outside through everyone’s views has changed the way i see everything even today. So, thank you everyone so much and may you have a joyous and warm holiday with your friends and family ^.^

The sad reality is, no matter how much someone promises they won’t. They will eventually hurt you one way or another, whether it is accidental or intentional. It happens because we are only human, we all have our limits and react differently to every situation. So long as we don’t give in to our emotions, we can move forward and know we are stronger than we know.
A few days ago, i received an award from my dear fellow blogger Nocturnefirefay. This was a great surprise because it was completely unexpected, but then again! those ARE the best surprises right? so thank you again for the award

As a toddler, Alina had a tendency to grab anything made of cardboard or paper and destroying it. I guess that’s a way of learning about how things break and how things work, i have to admit. I was the same way when i was her age, but if there was ever one thing she never destroyed? it was the IKEA catalog, she would spend hours sitting down and pointing at the pictures she saw. Of course, at that age she had no idea what on earth Ikea was and she loved it when i took her there for the first time. Boy, we’d spend hours and hours! now, at the age of 10 we mainly go to shop for new living room and house decorating ideas. Also a way to catch up, today we went for some Christmas decoration ideas and to find a way to renovate my room, at the same time it was a chance for her and i to catch up on events that happened over the week. I only see her once on alternate weekends so i want to hear it all, it’s a great experience for me because she’s now 10 years old and i know that in a few years we might lose this moment. So, we decided to sit down with a cup of coffee for myself and a carton of milk for herself. With a side of a small cake, i had signed her up for more competitive swimming programs over the Christmas break. She was really excited about it, so she had a lot to tell me about what she would like to try next. I wish i had more time, i learn so much just watching her grow up

Almost an hour later, she wanted to go to the Kid’s section. She said she wanted to see how much things changed, reason being that she had grown up so fast. That she missed out on a lot of things, how fast? well i’m 5’11″ and her head is already past my shoulder. So, this was kind of a way for her to take a peek at how far she’s come. In some ways, it may sound like just another weekend but believe me! for a single father like myself? every moment is a precious one

We wrapped up our shopping at IKEA with a bag of chips and a refilled cup of coffee along with a big smile, i got a chance to catch up some more and she got a chance to talk to me. Oh, in case some of you are asking how come i say catching up? well, things between me and my ex wife are very complicated and she won’t let me have any communication with Alina. So, we talk whenever we have a chance
Hey Ikea, how much to nail up my bed and my desk high up??
When someone has decided you will no longer be where you used to be, the only thing you will have left. Is what you were given, the memories that were shared and the reason to keep believing that there is someone who can take it all the way. Someone who can appreciate you for all you are, all it takes is faith and the strength already within.
