I usually try to notice the physical aspects of a poem as well as its content and emotion. Poems are so full of meaning, I want to get as much out of it as I can – it is funny what our sub-conscious mind is working on while we are completely unaware.
When I write I don’t look for its shape because i don’t want to be distracted from my feelings and the messages. but afterward i do look at it’s shape to see what else my mind wants to convey.

This is a satisfying counterpoint to the haiku I just reblogged. Thank you, Andy.

perfect leaf, quiet, contemplative poem – more true than people believe the truth to be – just being is purpose enough.

It’s funny, but I didn’t think of that until you mentioned it and I tilted my phone sideways! I think I may try a new type of writing thank you!

That’s the beauty of poetry writing, when you can freely express how you feel deep down and share your emotions.
You’re so right too on not thinking too much about the shape that the words come out. Just let the words flow on their own right?

absolutely – though i often like the challenge of using rhyme like the old timers use to do

Time has changed a lot hasn’t it? Nowadays even two words carry the emotions of 5. Haiku’s have become ever more popular
