Hi everyone! I don’t know how to say this so I will just say it straight out lol! I will be MIA for sometime starting tomorrow. Hate to do it, with so many of you awesome supporters of my writing. I am renewing my occupational first aid level 2 and work towards level 3 so I can pursue my goal of working as a paramedic which means really hitting the books.

Thank you so much for all your incredible support over the years, You have all been so much more than friends but my family as well. The blog will remain here and the posts within them, wish you all the best and once again thank you for everything you’ve done for me, wish you all the best in your goals and dreams!

Psychic Claimed Amanda Berry Was Dead

Amanda Berry, a 16-year-old girl when she went missing in 2003, was rescued from an unassuming house in Cleveland Monday night, where she and others are believed to have been abducted and held captive for up to a decade.

Tragically, a high-profile psychic told Berry’s mother in 2004 that she was dead, a phenomenon all too common when it comes to missing persons — psychics seem to have all the answers though they typically turn out to be completely wrong.

ANALYSIS: Skeptics Issue $1 Million Psychic Challenge

For nearly two years after her disappearance Amanda Berry’s mother, Louwana Miller, held out hope that her daughter would be found alive and returned to her: Maybe Amanda ran away from home and would come back some day, or was in an accident and somehow lost her memory. Miller endured the terrible limbo of not knowing, holding out hope against the odds but not wanting to believe the worst.

Berry reportedly broke through a door where she had been held captive and called for help; two other missing women, Gina DeJesus and Michele Knight, were also rescued from the home. The home’s owner, Ariel Castro, and his two brothers have been arrested in connection with the case. (The 10 Most Destructive Human Behaviors Explained)

But before the seeming miracle ending, “Plain Dealer” writer Stephan Hudak noted, “Desperate for any clue as to Amanda Berry’s whereabouts, and tired of unanswered questions from authorities, Miller turned to a psychic on Montel Williams’ nationally syndicated television show. The psychic said what the FBI, police and Miller hadn’t. ‘She’s not alive, honey,’ Sylvia Browne told her matter-of-factly. ‘Your daughter’s not the kind who wouldn’t call.’ With those blunt words, Browne persuaded Miller to accept a grim probability that has become more likely with each passing day.”

Miller returned home devastated, and she died two years later, believing that her daughter was dead.

Self-proclaimed psychic Sylvia Browne was horribly wrong, telling a grieving mother that her child was dead when she was not. And it’s not the first time: In an eerily similar situationin 2002, Browne told the parents of missing child Shawn Hornbeck that their son was dead, also on Montel Williams’ show. His body, she said, would be found in a wooded area near two large boulders, adding that he had been kidnapped by a very tall, “dark-skinned man” with dreadlocks.

In fact, Hornbeck and another boy were found very much alive five years later on Jan. 16, 2007, in the home of a Caucasian, non-dreadlocked Missouri man named Michael Devlin who had kidnapped them.Every detail of Browne’s psychic vision was wrong, including the most important: that Shawn was dead.

This horrific case also has many similarities to Jaycee Dugard, the girl abducted at the age of 11 in 1991 and discovered living in a virtual prison in the backyard of a couple’s home in Antioch, Calif., 18 years later. She had been confined and horrifically abused, and raped, even giving birth to her captor’s children. They were kept prisoners and were completely isolated, never having attended school or seen a doctor.

Hundreds of psychics gave information about Dugard’s location while she was missing — and every one turned out to be completely wrong.Psychics make many claims of success, but are conspicuously unable to find missing persons and rescue innocent women from years of torture and imprisonment.

‘Monster’ Carcass Washes Ashore in New Zealand

A mysterious carcass washed ashore in New Zealand last week, fueling speculation about sea monsters and dinosaurs. The rotting animal was discovered by a group on four-wheel vehicles speeding along the beach in Bay of Plenty.

According to a story in New Zealand’s Sun Live newspaper, “beachgoers were stumped when they came across what they thought was a prehistoric creature on the shore … stretching about 9 meters (30 feet) in length with large teeth and rudimentary flippers.”

Video of the fearsome-looking animal was soon posted to YouTube, asking the public for help in figuring out what it was.

A marine biologist soon identified the remains as a killer whale, in part because of its distinctive flipper. The mystery was solved, but it’s not the first time an animal’s carcass has been mistaken for a monster. In fact, New Zealand is one of the most common places in the world — along with Newfoundland, Canada and Florida — for such “sea monsters” to appear.

The Science of Sea Monsters

Over the past centuries mysterious masses of marine flesh have occasionally washed ashore on beaches around the world. Dubbed “blobsters” (or simply “blobs”) these large carcasses are so badly decomposed there’s not enough material to make a definitive identification. To many people, the huge creatures — looking unlike any known animal — may seem like strong evidence for sea monsters or even existing dinosaurs.

In 1896, giant waves tossed a massive fleshy corpse on a beach at St. Augustine, Fla. The rubbery, 6-foot-high blob was examined by a local naturalist, who decided it was likely from a giant octopus far larger than any known type. Many other such blobs have been found, including the horror-film inspired “Chilean blob” (found in July 2003), a few “Bermuda blobs,” and another in Newfoundland in 2001.

Controversy and mystery surrounded the creatures for decades. In 2004, a team of biologists led by Sidney Pierce examined all available blobster materials using electron microscopes, and applied biochemical, molecular and DNA analysis. The conclusion: The strange specimens were actually various species of great whales.

Though the identities of these mysterious monster carcasses are now known, marine mystery lovers need not fret. The oceans have not been fully explored, and it’s certain that the sea has not revealed all its secrets.

Giant Africa Land Snails, some the size of rats, are invading Florida, and it will be hugely expensive to stop them from eating everything in their path.

"There's no clear answer" on how to stop them, Jon Ablett, curator of Mollusca at the Natural History Museum, told the BBC.

The snails, thought to have been brought in from the Dominican Republic or Jamaica, are known to eat through just about anything including most plant life and even stucco, which means that a large number of houses in the U.S.

Quality time and inspiration

This morning, My daughter and I went to have our brunch at Ikea. I am in love with their meatballs and my daughter really enjoys their haddock with a side of fries, It’s something we do every so often to spend some real quality time. Talk about anything and everything, It’s something I am very grateful that my daughter grants me at her age of 12.

As we were eating, I noticed a mom, A father and a little guy between them. She was very petite and barely inches above her son. Something about the way she handled herself really caught my eye, the cashier was very new at his job and fumbled quite a bit but the expression on her face, was that of someone who had so much innocence and sweet personality that she calmed the cashier down with just a smile and brought him confidence. It’s hard to explain, but I think that’s all the cashier needed to get his day really started. Yet, the young mom just carried on with her husband and son to the dining table, without realizing the sweet act she just did, she just enjoyed her meal with her son and there was this connection between the two. I didn’t see one adult and a child but two very happy souls enjoying a simple meal, It looked like such a sweet moment.

It truly warms my heart that people like her are among us, People who so naturally see the best in people and brings it out of them with nothing more than just a warm smile, Comes to show..How amazing the human heart truly can be!

I hope some of you can't resist LOOKING at them!

So far I have tentatively identified several different types of Hummingbirds at The Holler. The Allen's Hummingbird, The Anna's, The Costa, The Rufous and The Ruby Throated.

Hummingbirds were revered in many native cultures. In Peru the Aztecs carved a Hummingbird figure in stone visible from the foothills.

They believed that Hummingbirds spread life, which is certainly true, as they are major cross pollinators.
