DP Prompt ~ Envelope Pushers

Today’s prompt asks

” When was the last time you took a risk (big or small), and pushed your own boundaries — socially, professionally, or otherwise? Were you satisfied with the outcome? ”

Pushing my boundaries, Hum! why does my first job come to mind lol! I had worked at a company that did business with both central and south america. I was the only other person in the company who spoke Spanish so my manager and I were sent down to Mexico to attend a convention center event to promote the products. Sure enough though, On day one? right at the end of the event my manager insisted we go to a restaurant offered by someone we met. It was awesome to sit down and enjoy great food plus listen to stories, I never thought I would get a chance like that! Sure enough though, At the end of dinner we went to the main road to hail for a cab and hopped in, Only to find that the cab wasn’t really a taxi and it was actually a local gang preying on local tourists. We were held at gunpoint and told to surrender all our money. Of course my manager being the Einstein of the year had all the money that the company gave us in his pockets, We still manage to do business though but I seriously doubt I will go down to downtown Mexico ever again ugh! oh and this is the workplace where I met my ex and the rest you can guess 😀

  1. Hi, taking a big risk to publish your thoughts without music and images. Envelope pusher, huh? I must tell you you won hands down Andy. So nice to hear your experiences of your work place. Scary. 🙂

  2. I don’t know why I find the image of y’all held up on gun point IN MEXICO so funny? Maybe I’ve watched too much Despicable me and Rango to take mexico seriously ! lol

P.S I like this new direction you took with the posts 😉

  3. I was aghast at reading you were held at gunpoint but when you then went on to mention this is where you met your ex I burst out laughing, sorry but I’m still laughing! 😉
