Let’s see, What animals have I had over the years?
Let’s start with someone I used to live with, She had three mice(No they weren’t blind) two gerbils, seven cats and a dog. Not including my own, In a two floor house. Yeah, I didn’t stay long.
Few years later my daughter was born and I got an aquarium, Three guppies. Two females and one male, Now for you fishkeepers you know what a mistake that was! Ended up with 12 babies! They are literally the rabbits of the aquarium world. Oh I forgot! I had a dog that I left with my ex gf, Quite the handsome mutt too! Half wolf, Black lab, boarder collie, Sheppard cross. Left him at the animal farm though since my ex gf felt she could make him feel more at home, So! Yups! That’s me, How about you? π
I have a friend who’s moving and needs to find a home for her daughter’s two-foot shark… perhaps a solution to the guppy problem, lol! π
Two foot shark!! damn, you need more than 200 gallons for that! oh and no winter weather π
Poor things lost a LOT of fish when our power went out for 30 hours during that snowstorm. π¦
30!! damn, but why so long? I know in the interior it gets bad but 30 is insane :O
Trees that were falling with the weight of the snow would occasionally take out lines as they went down. Then because we’d received 2 meters in 24hrs, it was hard to vehicles to get access to these areas to make repairs. Me and my snow!
You and your snow and you want more! geez π
Ah-huh!
~Gives up trying to figure you out~ π
hee hee… my work here is done {sits back and takes long slurp on coffee}
~Grabs a giant heater and aims it at your place with Hawaiian music playing~
Booming right back at you… “do you want to build a snow man”! βοΈβοΈβοΈ
~Brings a luau dance troupe and a giant container of pineapple punch~ π
Repeatedly throws snowball after snowball at you…
~Catches them and stirs it into his coconut punch~ ah.. perfect ice π
grrrr… next time Mr C… next time π€
~Margarita glass salute! ~ππ
Clink clinkπΈπΈ
Clink! ππ
Only animal I ever had was a hamster, but I soon learned that I had real issues saying goodbye! Probably my first and last pet π¦
Yeah sadly they don’t live very long, my sister didn’t take saying goodbye all that well either. π³
Animal farm indeed!
Was not fun believe me oof!
What a gorgeous dog!!!!
I brought home a mouse on the last day of school because someone needed to care for it, volunteering myself π my mom taught me responsibility …. After having a hyperventilated cow π
As a child I had a male hamster and my sis had a female…. We learned 1 + 1 =29 LOL!!!
As a child, we had a chiwowa (sp? I have to be quiet so I can’t ask my phone) and I believe a few terriers. But a tabby cat adopted us….which was fun with my moms daycare as “taffy” would bring mice to say thank you for allowing him to stay. I don’t know who moved faster when he dropped the first one at her feet as she sat outside with all the kids… He or she with a broom π
My hubby and I had a black tortoise shell/Siamese who lasted 34 days without food or water when she got boxed up in a box spring during a move. The movers didn’t see her. She almost 20 years π many years after!!!
We had a grey cat who had kittens which was a beautiful time for my boys ….but we found new homes for them because trying to care for kids and cats …. Yeah.
Then we had a white terrier I named coach who walked with when I exercised. This awesome friend died of parvoπ₯
We had a German shepherd, but she kept nipping the boys.
We had a cocker spaniel, same problem.
We had a faded long-haired calico named Annie who hated my hubby. After many years of laughter, she ran away π₯ I was heartbroken.
Currently we just have a calico named Zoee, a black lab/collie mix Teslae and a golden retriever named Mercy.
I’ve had fish too that I miss, but the tank cleaning was too hard on my back π’
We also had a precious black long-haired kitten with orange flecks named Audrey. She was perfect π she died at 2 1/2 of kidney stones.
Calico! I had a Calico who my ex gf took in, she was a tortoise shell belly sweetheart with orange and brown patches, Completely lost but felt comfortable around me, I remember one morning she came back after being out all night an meowed outside, when I let her in I wrapped her in a towel and she just purrrred to sleep, so sweet!
But wow 34 days without food?? I never even knew that was possible! π
Ooooo!!! What a sweetie!!!
Yeah, when we moved from Wichita to Grand Forks …. I gave her chicken and milk right away to draw her out of the tiny corner in the basement βΊοΈ
And indeed Bear was beautiful! He had the fangs of a wolf and the eyes, the body of a German Shepherd, The color of a black lab, but the mane was that of a wolf and boarder collie tail, guy could run too! he let his wild side loose and BAM off he went
Oh my!!! Any pics? I promise not to use them without permission π
Unfortunately no π¦ at the time we didn’t really take many photos, he was so sweet too, like people at first glance would think he’s aggressive but he wouldn’t hurt a fly, walked beside me since day one and even curled to sleep with the cats, heck a racoon swiped him on the nose once and he still remained cute after he recovered :O
Oh, he sounds BEAUTEMOUS!!!π
I do miss him loads! π
I’m sure!!
The dogs we have now are the ones that made me a dog person. When my hubby was on a trip for the military, Mercy stayed by my side, faithfully. During that time I had a bad back and for a year we got to know each other. Even after making my back stronger through exercise and healthy eating, she’s still my baby β₯οΈ
We got Tessy from the humane society and she was a skeleton under her fur at age 2. Her rich brown eyes spoke to me while my hubby and son were looking at others. That was 3 years ago π
Now they are all grown up AND very much part of the family rite π
Yes!!! And with their teenager-isms π
Not as bad as an actual biped teenager I assure you oof!
π
Will you ever have another dog? What breed? What name? π
Malamute!! lol!! not sure what name though, but I love that husky wolf look π
Malamute!! Horse? πI’ll have to wood burn the dog I see in my head… Gorgeous!!
Give it a try! I look forward seeing it! π
I can’t wait to get home!!!!
Eh? ~Looking at you confused~
Still in Fargo π
oooh…when are you heading back?
About now … I think. Barring any temptations… Yep, heading home. Should be there in an hour and a half? π
Do relax when you get there π
Pyrography is relaxing π
Just don’t burn yourself π
I’m home now…. Going to exercise….which I’ll post about….I’ve been given a drawing assignment I can’t show until the patch is made… Then I get to burn π
If you told that to someone out of the blue they’d probably look at you all confused going “Uhm burn what?” lol
Ha!!
Focusing now on exercise π
I’ll let you back to it π
Done π blog, assignment, burn….
Waiting here to see it π
Blog is written π
My goodness ! I realized I should never be late in replying otherwise I have to keep scrolling DOWNnnnnn to write my comment. Everything has been already written so nice to know about your animal love, that;s all for today. Yesterday I wrote my response very late and dozed off after that. Catch you in evening with new prompt π
Let’s see what they will come up with next eh? It’s tricky for me now cause the prompts tend to come out when I have to head out to work :-\
andy – you really did have some animal farm stories to tell – (laughed with ya too) and I did not know that about guppies. oh and no animal farm for us – just on our second pair of labs – keep it pretty simple and easy – although I man thinking I would like a puppy sometime soon –
Why not add another member to the family? I’m sure it’ll bring fun memories for you all, Puppies do that heh! π
yeah, but it is also a lot of work – and the last two we had smaller kids who were ready and willing,. so I am not sure it would work right now – and later I have to show this poster I got from terrier man – it kinda ties into this idea of the work involvedβ¦
xxxooo
Terrier man? ~Looking at you curiously~ xxxoo
well he is this guy out of DC who retired from politics and now he does stuff with working terriers – and he has a blog and website where he gives lots of dog tips – actually – for other animals and then lost of different life areas – but I usually send dog owners there and they thank me later – ha!
Ah..A dog whisperer for terriers! π
yes! but he also has advice and just all this stuff about dog care – also – speaking of dog whisperer – I guess that terrier man was featured in cesar millan’s book.

Takin a look π
Interesting pet stories, Andy. When I was a child, I had a budgie who could recite “Georgie Porgie pudding and pie. Kissed the girls and made them cry.” Every morning, he used to call “You’ll be late for school!” π I had a tortoise called Terry and my sister had one called Theresa. They didn’t make it through the English winter in their box of straw next to the fireplace. π¦ I’ve had dogs and cats too. My favourite cat Joey was hit by a car. I was devastated, and imagined I could feel him rubbing around my ankles for months after.
Sorry to hear about your cat π¦ they are so members of the family, Always so sweet! such an adorable bird too though.
So now across the water you have a new pet, Mr. A rite? π
Yes, you’re right, but I don’t let him rub around my ankles. π
Ohhhh not, he can stay where he is, At camera length and 2 feet in the water ππ
A grew up with a dog called Judy, a black cocker spaniel. I still miss her π¦
Cocker spaniels are so beautiful.. those ears! π
