DP Prompt ~ Backyard

Standard

Okie, So I don’t have Lynn Valley Canyon in my backyard per say, But! It’s not far from my place, That kind of counts right? lol πŸ™‚

The Canyon is awesome for two reasons, It’s free and once you cross the suspension bridge there are trails that go for miles, About half a day worth of them, though these days it really is too hot, but just right in the spring and just before autumn starts to set in.

Now here is a very cool part of the Canyon, A naturally formed waterfall that acts like a waterslide for those brave enough to attempt it, It’s a good 15 or so feet drop into a pretty deep pool, Heck of a long ways to climb back up though oof!

This shot is a bit sad, there’s usually a steady current of water from the mountain covering these rocks, but unfortunately because of the dry spell we have had lately, There’s not been much of a stream, hopefully that changes soon πŸ™‚

  1. I love the shot of the man near the waterfall, it kind of depicts a calmness in the midst of danger. I am afraid of heights so this is definitely quite frightening for me but I still love the feeling I get from this picture. πŸ™‚

  2. so beautiful dear Andy, but if you ask me to come with you there and to pass this bridge πŸ™‚ I prefer to stay in the back πŸ™‚ I think I can’t do this. Thank you, love, nia

  3. I will be visiting Lynn Canyon Park in about 2 weeks! I am so excited. Is the water slide easy to access/obvious? Or is there a secret way to get there? On my bucket list!…ready to cross it off πŸ™‚

    • The water slide can be seen from the suspension bridge itself and there’s a trail that takes you to it, but be very careful with your footing as it is extreme slippery since we’ve had a bit of rain πŸ™‚
